En: But he knew he had to be strong for Liv.

Da: Liv kom løbende hen til ham.
En: Liv came running over to him.

Da: Hun havde en blomsterkrans i håret.
En: She had a flower crown in her hair.

En: I made it just like Dad showed me," she said.

Da: Hun smilede stort, men hendes øjne så triste ud.
En: She smiled broadly, but her eyes looked sad.

Da: Johan tog en dyb indånding.
En: Johan took a deep breath.

Da: Han ville gøre denne tur speciel for hende.
En: He wanted to make this trip special for her.

Da: Han ønskede at gøre far stolt.
En: He wanted to make Dad proud.

Da: De satte teltet op midt i skoven.
En: They set up the tent in the middle of the forest.

Da: Johan prøvede at huske, hvordan far altid gjorde det.
En: Johan tried to remember how Dad always did it.

En: Liv tried to help, but she was easily distracted by the birds and butterflies around them.

En: "Do you remember when Dad caught that big butterfly and then set it free?"

En: "Yes, he said you should let things be free."

En: He felt a tear starting to form, but he knew he had to be strong.

En: They spent the day hiking and collecting seashells on the beach.

En: Liv laughed and ran around, and Johan could almost forget the sorrow for a moment.

Da: Men pludselig ændrede himlen sig.
En: But suddenly, the sky changed.

Da: Mørke skyer samlede sig hurtigt.
En: Dark clouds gathered quickly.

Da: Torden brølede i det fjerne.
En: Thunder roared in the distance.

Da: Liv greb Johans hånd, hendes øjne store af frygt.
En: Liv grabbed Johan's hand, her eyes wide with fear.

Da: "Johan, hvad gør vi?"
En: "Johan, what do we do?"

Da: spurgte hun.
En: she asked.

Da: Johan kiggede rundt.
En: Johan looked around.

Da: Teltet var for langt væk.
En: The tent was too far away.

Da: Han tog en beslutning.
En: He made a decision.

Da: "Kom, Liv.
En: "Come, Liv.

Da: Vi finder læ."
En: We’ll find shelter."

En: They ran toward a small cave in the cliff they had seen earlier that day.

Da: Regnen begyndte at falde kraftigt, men de nåede ind i hulen.
En: The rain began to pour heavily, but they made it into the cave.

En: Liv shivered, partly from the cold and partly from fear, but Johan held her close.

En: "Do you remember when Dad told us about the caveman days?"

Da: spurgte Johan og forsøgte at lette stemningen.
En: Johan asked, trying to lighten the mood.

Da: Liv nikkede og begyndte at smile.
En: Liv nodded and started to smile.

En: "Yes, he said we should start a fire and make up stories."

Da: De begyndte at fortælle historier, minder om deres far.
En: They began telling stories, memories of their dad.

En: They laughed about his funny jokes and strange dances.

En: The rain pounded outside, but inside the cave, there was warmth in their memories and laughter.

En: Johan felt a weight lift from his heart.

Da: Da regnen aftog, kiggede Johan ud.
En: When the rain let up, Johan looked out.

En: The sun broke through the clouds, and the sky filled with light again.

En: The rain has washed the world clean," he said.

Da: Liv krammede Johan.
En: Liv hugged Johan.

Da: "Tak, Johan.
En: "Thank you, Johan.

En: This was the best trip ever," she said.

Da: Johan smilede til hende.
En: Johan smiled at her.

Da: Han havde lært noget vigtigt.
En: He had learned something important.

En: Memories of Dad didn’t only have to be painful.

Da: De kunne også bringe glæde.
En: They could also bring joy.

En: As they walked back toward the tent, Johan felt closer to Liv than ever before.

En: He knew they would get through it together, with memories of Dad as their strength.
