Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá breá gréine a bhí ann i nGaillimh.
En: It was a beautiful sunny day in Galway.

Ga: Bhí Sean, fear ard le féasóg mhór, ag siúl síos an bóthar.
En: Sean, a tall man with a big beard, was walking down the road.

Ga: In aice leis, bhí Molly, a chara, agus a deirfiúr Bridget ag caint go súgach.
En: Nearby, his friend Molly and her sister Bridget were chatting cheerfully.

Ga: Bhí an triúir ag pleanáil dul go dtí an margadh caorach.
En: The three of them were planning to go to the sheep market.

Ga: Theastaigh uathu breathnú ar na caoirigh agus b'fhéidir ceann a cheannach.
En: They wanted to look at the sheep and maybe buy one.

Ga: Bhí Sean an-tógtha le caoirigh agus bhí sé i gcónaí ag iarraidh ceann a bheith aige féin.
En: Sean was very fond of sheep and always wanted to have one of his own.

Ga: Nuair a shroich siad an margadh, bhreathnaigh Sean thart le súile geala.
En: When they reached the market, Sean looked around with bright eyes.

Ga: Bhí na caoirigh go léir ag méileach go sona sásta.
En: All the sheep were bleating happily.

Ga: B'é sin an lá a rinne Sean an botún is mó ina shaol.
En: That was the day Sean made the biggest mistake of his life.

Ga: Chuaigh Sean i leataobh chun maireachtáil a dhéanamh.
En: Sean stepped aside to catch his breath.

Ga: Bhí sé chomh spreagtha nach bhféach sé roimhe sula léim sé.
En: He was so excited that he didn't look before he leaped.

Ga: Shíl Sean go raibh sé ag léim isteach ina charr, ach bhí sé ag iarraidh léim isteach i gcaora mhór bhán atá suite ar an talamh!
En: Sean thought he was jumping into his car, but he was actually trying to jump into a big white sheep that was on the ground!

Ga: Chuir an caora geit as agus rith sí ar shiúl ag méileach go feargach.
En: The sheep got a fright and ran away bleating angrily.

Ga: Bhí Molly agus Bridget ag gáire go hard.
En: Molly and Bridget laughed loudly.

Ga: Ní fhaca siad riamh rud éigin chomh greannmhar.
En: They had never seen anything so funny.

Ga: Shocraigh Sean gur chóir dó fanacht ciúin faoin eachtra seo.
En: Sean decided he should keep quiet about this incident.

Ga: Bhraith sé beagán náire ach ansin thosaigh sé ag gáire leis.
En: He felt a little embarrassed but then he started laughing too.

Ga: Tuigeadh dó nach féidir le duine a bheith dáiríre i gcónaí.
En: He realized that one cannot always be serious.

Ga: Sa deireadh, cheannaigh Sean caora ceart ón margadh agus baisteadh 'Péarla' uirthi, as an gcuma lonrach a bhí uirthi.
En: In the end, Sean bought the right sheep from the market and named her 'Pearl' because of her shiny appearance.

Ga: Gach uair a chonaic sé í, thabharfadh cuimhne dó an eachtra greannmhar agus an t-áthas a bhain leo.
En: Every time he saw her, it reminded him of the funny incident and the joy it brought.

Ga: Ón lá sin ar aghaidh, bheadh Sean cúramach sular léimfeadh sé isteach ina charr – nó in aon rud eile!
En: From that day on, Sean would be careful before jumping into his car – or anything else!

Ga: Bhí gach duine i nGaillimh ag gáire faoin scéal, agus bhí an scéal grinn faoi Sean agus an caora ina bhfinscéal sa cheantar.
En: Everyone in Galway laughed about the story, and the funny tale about Sean and the sheep became a legend in the area.

Ga: Agus Péarla?
En: And Pearl?

Ga: Bhí sí ina réalta i measc na gcaorach sa chontae, agus carraig láidir dóchais agus greann i saol an triúir, go háirithe do Sean, a d'fhoghlaim gan riamh breithiúnas a dhéanamh ar rudaí de réir a gcrutha seachtracha amháin!
En: She became a star among the sheep in the county, a strong rock of hope and laughter in the lives of the trio, especially for Sean, who learned never to judge things by their outward appearances!
