Ca: La Marta i el Jordi passejaven pels carrers de Barcelona.
En: Marta and Jordi were walking through the streets of Barcelona.

Ca: El sol brillava sobre els edificis modernistes, reflectint un mosaic de colors i formes únic.
En: The sun was shining on the modernist buildings, reflecting a unique mosaic of colors and shapes.

Ca: La brisa del mar feia ballar les fulles dels arbres de La Rambla.
En: The sea breeze made the leaves of the trees on La Rambla dance.

Ca: Marta era nativa de Barcelona, en canvi, Jordi era un foraster que havia vingut per aprendre l'autèntic català.
En: Marta was a native of Barcelona, whereas Jordi was a stranger who had come to learn authentic Catalan.

Ca: La seva companyia era perfecte per fer-li descobrir la riquesa del llenguatge, i les seves expressions locals.

En: - If I grab your hand like this - and she grabbed one hand, - we say 'la ma' (the hand).

Ca: Però si t'agafo ambdues mans, diem que faig 'el mans'.
En: But if I grab both hands, we say 'el mans' (the hands).

Ca: Entens la diferència?
En: Do you understand the difference?

Ca: Jordi mirava les mans unides amb una expressió d'incertitud.

Ca: Després de reflexionar una estona, va començar a somriure i va respondre:- Sí, crec que ho entenc.

Ca: Amb 'fer la ma', m'agafes una mà, però amb 'fer el mans', m'agafes ambdues.

Ca: Marta va riure de plaer.
