Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá breá gréine a bhí ann agus bhí torann na dtonnta ag bualadh in éadan na n-aillte ag Cliffs of Moher.
En: It was a beautiful sunny day and the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs at the Cliffs of Moher was thunderous.

Ga: Shiúil Siobhán agus Declan le chéile agus iad ag tabhairt faoi deara an radharc iontach a bhí os a gcomhair.
En: Siobhán and Declan walked together, noticing the wonderful scenery in front of them.

Ga: Bean bhrostúil a bhí i Siobhán agus fear ciúin cúthail a bhí i Declan.
En: Siobhán was a talkative woman and Declan was a quiet and thoughtful man.

Ga: B'aoibhinn leo dul amach le chéile agus an nádúr álainn timpeall orthu.
En: They both loved going out together and the beautiful nature surrounding them.

Ga: Agus iad ag siúl, thosaigh Siobhán ag caint faoin saol agus faoi na rudaí a bhí ag cur as di.
En: As they walked, Siobhán started talking about life and the things that upset her.

Ga: Bhí Declan ag éisteacht go ciúin, a mhachnamh uaidh.
En: Declan was quietly listening, lost in thought.

Ga: Aon nóiméad amháin bhí sé ina sheasamh taobh léi, agus gan ach soicind ina dhiaidh sin, bhí sé imithe.
En: Suddenly, he stood next to her, and just a moment later, he was gone.

Ga: Bhí Siobhán ag casadh timpeall agus ag súil leis go bhfeicfeadh sí Declan.
En: Siobhán turned around, looking for Declan.

Ga: Tharla rud greannmhar ansin.
En: Then something funny happened.

Ga: Bhí garbhán bán ina seasamh go ciúin in aice le cloch, gan corraí.
En: There was a silent white goat standing next to a rock, unmoving.

Ga: Chuir Siobhán an mearbhall ar an gcaora le Declan.
En: Siobhán confused the goat for Declan.

Ga: Bhí sí ag leanacht ar aghaidh ag caint leis an gcaora gan a thuiscint.
En: She kept on talking to the goat without realizing.

Ga: "Tá an lá go hálainn, nach bhfuil, Declan?
En: "The day is beautiful, isn't it, Declan?"

Ga: " arsa Siobhán.
En: said Siobhán.

Ga: Níor labhair an caora, gan amhras.
En: The goat, of course, did not speak.

Ga: Ní raibh ach balbh-chrónán an fhir bhocht.
En: Only the poor man's mute echo was heard.

Ga: Bhí turasóirí eile sa cheantar agus thosaigh siad ag gáire go croíúil nuair a thuig siad an botún a bhí déanta ag Siobhán.
En: There were other tourists in the area, and they started laughing heartily when they realized Siobhán's mistake.

Ga: Bhí aghaidh dearg bhréan ar Shíobhan agus í ag casadh timpeall chun an slua a fheiceáil ag gáire léi.
En: Siobhán blushed and turned around to see the crowd laughing at her.

Ga: Tháinig Declan ar ais ón siopa beag in aice láimhe, áit ar cheannaigh sé uisce, agus chonaic sé an radharc greannmhar.
En: Declan returned from the small shop next to them, where he had bought water, and he saw the funny sight.

Ga: Déanann Declan gáire freisin, agus tugann sé uisce do Shíobhan.
En: Declan also laughed and gave water to Siobhan.

Ga: "Ní raibh mé ag súil go mbeifeá ag caint le caoirigh inniu!
En: "I didn't expect you to be talking to sheep today!"

Ga: " arsa sé go magúil.
En: he said jokingly.

Ga: Bhí náire ar Shíobhan ar dtús, ach ansin rinne sí gáire freisin.
En: Siobhán was embarrassed at first, but then she laughed too.

Ga: Bhí an scéal greannmhar nuair a bhí sé insinte aici.
En: The story was funny when it was told to her.

Ga: Ón lá sin amach, bhí nod beag faoin eachtra idir Siobhán agus Declan i gcónaí.
En: From that day on, there was always a little hint of the incident between Siobhán and Declan.

Ga: Cibé áit a rachaidís, d'fhéachfadh Siobhán thart go cúramach le cinntiú go raibh Declan i ndáiríre aici seachas caora nó aon rud eile de shaghas na tuaithe.
En: Wherever they went, Siobhán would look carefully to make sure that Declan was really with her instead of a sheep or anything else rural-like.

Ga: Chríochnaigh an lá acu ag gáire agus ag cuimhneamh ar na hiontais agus na heachtraí a tharla dos na Cliffs of Moher.
En: They finished the day laughing and reminiscing about the wonders and events that happened at the Cliffs of Moher.
