Story Transcript:

Lt: Vieną šaltą, bet saulėtą rytą Eglė nusprendė išvykti į Vilnių.
En: One cold but sunny morning, Eglė decided to travel to Vilnius.

Lt: Ji buvo girdėjusi apie žavų Gedimino bokštą, esantį kalno viršūnėje, ir nusprendė ten nueiti kartu su savo draugu Tomu.
En: She had heard about the charming Gediminas Tower located at the top of the hill and decided to go there with her friend Tomas.

Lt: Jiedu buvo susitarę susitikti prie pat bokšto ryto metu, kai miesto gatvės dar merkiasi tyloje.
En: They had arranged to meet at the base of the tower in the morning, when the city streets were still quiet.

Lt: Eglė atvyko anksčiau nei buvo planavusi ir, šiek tiek nerimaudama dėl šalčio, nedrąsiai žengė prie iškilmingo Gedimino bokšto pagrindo.
En: Eglė arrived earlier than planned and, feeling a little anxious about the cold, hesitantly stepped towards the solemn base of Gediminas Tower.

Lt: Aukso spalvos saulės spinduliai švelniai glamonėjo senojo bokšto akmenis.
En: The golden rays of the sun gently illuminated the old tower's stones.

Lt: Tomas turėjo atvykti bet kuriuo momentu.
En: Tomas could arrive at any moment.

Lt: Stovėdama ir laukdama Tomo, Eglė pamatė šešėlyje stovintį aukštą, liekną siluetą, kuris, kaip ji manė, labai priminė Tomą.
En: As she stood waiting for Tomas, Eglė saw a tall, slender silhouette standing in the shadow, which she thought strongly resembled Tomas.

Lt: Siluetas buvo nusigręžęs, bet Eglė neturėjo abejonių – tai turėjo būti Tomas.
En: The silhouette was turned away, but Eglė had no doubt – it had to be Tomas.

Lt: „Tomas!
En: "Tomas!"

Lt: “ – sušuko Eglė, palengva žingsniuodama link šešėlio.
En: Eglė exclaimed, slowly walking towards the shadow.

Lt: Tokioje tyloje, net švelnus jos balsas skambėjo galingai.
En: In such silence, even her soft voice sounded loud.

Lt: Eglė pasijuto ryžtingai ir nusprendė pradėti pokalbį: „Tomas, tu tikrai čia?
En: Eglė felt determined and decided to start the conversation: "Tomas, are you really here?

Lt: Aš taip laukiau šios dienos.
En: I've been looking forward to this day.

Lt: Vilnius atrodo nepakartojamai, ar ne?
En: Vilnius looks incredibly unique, doesn't it?"

Lt: “Visiškai neišgirdusi atsakymo, Eglė buvo šiek tiek suerzinta Tomaus tylėjimu.
En: Not hearing any response, Eglė was somewhat annoyed by Tomas' silence.

Lt: „Tomas, ar tu girdi mane?
En: "Tomas, can you hear me?"

Lt: “ – šiek tiek pakėlusi balsą pakartojo Eglė.
En: she repeated, raising her voice slightly.

Lt: Po akimirkos, būdama jau šalia, Eglė netikėtai suprato, kad tai buvo ne Tomas, o drąsususi šarvuotos riterio skulptūra.
En: After a moment, as she approached, Eglė suddenly realized that it was not Tomas, but a brave sculpture of a knight in armor.

Lt: Eglė susijuokė iš savo naivumo ir pažiūrėjo aplink, kad patikrintų, ar niekas nematė jos klaidos.
En: Eglė laughed at her naivety and looked around to see if anyone had noticed her mistake.

Lt: Netrukus pro rūkas, kuris pradėjo tirpti saulės spindulių prisilietime, išniro juokdamasis Tomas.
En: Soon, from the direction where the mist was beginning to dissipate in the touch of the sun's rays, Tomas emerged, laughing.

Lt: „Girdėjau, kaip kalbėjai su mūsų Gedimino sargu,“ – linksmai tarė jis, žvelgdamas į dalykų nemąstančią skulptūrą.
En: "I heard you talking to our Gediminas guard," he said jokingly, looking at the thoughtless statue.

Lt: Eglė šypsodamasi atsakė: „Na, nors jis ir nėra labai kalbus, bet geras klausytojas.
En: Smiling, Eglė replied, "Well, although he's not very talkative, he's a good listener."

Lt: “ Abudu juokdamiesi pasuko link bokšto laiptų.
En: Both laughing, they headed towards the tower stairs.

Lt: Nuo to momento jų kelionė tapo dar šviesesnė.
En: From that moment on, their journey became even brighter.

Lt: Jie lipo į bokšto viršūnę, iš kurio atsivėrė įspūdingas Vilniaus panorama.
En: They climbed to the top of the tower, from where they could see the impressive panorama of Vilnius.

Lt: Drauge susilaikę nuo juoko, Eglė ir Tomas pakalbėjo ir su tikraisiais miesto gyventojais, ir su piliakalnio dvasiomis.
En: Suppressing their laughter, Eglė and Tomas spoke with both the real city dwellers and the spirits of the hillfort.

Lt: Eglė tai prisiminė kaip įsimintiną nuotykį, kuris parodė, kad net maža klaida gali tapti linksmu prisiminimu ar nauja draugystės pradžia.
En: Eglė remembered this as a memorable adventure, showing that even a small mistake can become a funny memory or the beginning of a new friendship.

Lt: Ir nors ji šiandien pakalbėjo su statula, rytojaus diena žadėjo dar daugiau džiugių nuotykių su tikru draugu Tomu šalia.
En: And although today she talked to a statue, tomorrow promised even more joyous adventures with her real friend Tomas by her side.
