Da: Solen skinnede varmt over Nyhavn, og vinden blæste blidt gennem de farverige huse.
En: The sun shone warmly over Nyhavn, and the wind blew gently through the colorful houses.

En: Anne, Mikkel, and Lars had long looked forward to this day.

En: After weeks filled with busy schedules and little time together, they were finally going to have a picnic by the harbor.

En: Anne packed the basket with rye bread sandwiches, fruit, and juice.

En: Mikkel carried a large blanket, and Lars had brought a frisbee.

En: They found a cozy spot close to the water.

Da: Små både vuggede i vandet, og deres mastetråde klirrede stille i vinden.
En: Small boats swayed in the water, and their mast lines clinked softly in the wind.

Da: De satte sig ned på tæppet.
En: They sat down on the blanket.

Da: Anne åbnede kurven og begyndte at tage maden frem.
En: Anne opened the basket and began to take out the food.

En: “Come and eat,” she said, and the others quickly joined.

En: They laughed and talked, quickly slipping back into their usual rhythm.

En: Mikkel asked his father, “How's work?” Lars sighed and smiled wearily.

En: “It's busy, but it's good to be here with you now.” Anne nodded and said, “We need to make time for each other, even when it's busy.” After they had eaten, Lars and Mikkel ran down to the water to toss the frisbee.

En: They took turns throwing and laughing whenever the frisbee flew crookedly.

En: Anne watched them with a smile from the blanket.

Da: “Hvor er det skønt her,” tænkte hun.
En: "It's so lovely here," she thought.

Da: Både store og små både sejlede forbi.
En: Both large and small boats sailed by.

En: Small children ran and played along the edge of the harbor.

En: Anne could feel the stress and worries she had been carrying beginning to lift.

Da: Lars og Mikkel kom tilbage.
En: Lars and Mikkel came back.

En: “Should we take a walk along the harbor?” Lars asked.

Da: De pakkede sammen og begyndte at gå langs vandet.
En: They packed up and started walking along the water.

En: Mikkel suddenly asked, “Should we have a picnic again next week?” Anne and Lars looked at each other and nodded.

En: “Yes,” Anne said firmly, “We should.

En: We will make it a tradition.” The family walked closer together, and they returned home with full hearts.
