Story Transcript:

Cy: Mewn hen gastell yng Nghymru, roedd gwyliau pleserus o oleuadau a cherddoriaeth.
En: In an old castle in Wales, there were delightful holidays of lights and music.

Cy: Yn Nghastell Caernarfon, lle mae hanes yn atseinio drwy'r cerrig, roedd Eisteddfod flynyddol yn ei anterth.
En: At Caernarfon Castle, where history resonates through the stones, there was an annual Eisteddfod in its prime.

Cy: Pobol o bob cwr o'r wlad yn dod i gystadlu, i wrando, a dathlu'r celfyddydau.
En: People from all over the country came to compete, to listen, and to celebrate the arts.

Cy: Bethan, merch ifanc â gwên fel yr haul bore, Roedd hi'n crwydro'r maes gyda'i ffrind gorau, mab enwog y pentref, Rhys.
En: Bethan, a young girl with a smile like the morning sun, roamed the field with her best friend, the village's famous son, Rhys.

Cy: Yn ychwanegol at gyfeillgarwch, roedd Rhys yn enwog am ei gerddi hudolus.
En: In addition to their friendship, Rhys was famous for his enchanting poems.

Cy: Eleri, a oedd yn berchen ar ddefaid bach gwyn, hefyd yn crwydro'n rhydd drwy'r castell, gan fwynhau'r gwyliau gyda brwdfrydedd.
En: Eleri, who owned a few little white sheep, also wandered freely through the castle, enjoying the festivals with enthusiasm.

Cy: Ar brynhawn llawn cyffro, cafodd Rhys ei gyfareddu gan y defaid, oherwydd, yn rhyfedd, roedd yn ei weld yn nodio'i phen bob tro y byddai bardd yn perfformio.
En: On an exciting afternoon, Rhys was interrupted by the sheep, as, strangely, it seemed to nod its head every time a poet would perform.

Cy: Meddwl bod hwn yn gystadleuydd cudd, aeth Rhys ato, ei wên yn lledu wrth baratoi i ddarllen ei gerdd newydd.
En: Thinking this was a secretive competitor, Rhys approached it, his smile widening as he prepared to recite his new poem.

Cy: "Awen," dechreuodd Rhys, "Fe rhoi i ti fy ngherddi.
En: "O muse," Rhys began, "I give you my poems."

Cy: " A defaid Eleri'n syllu, Rhys yn ei fywiogrwydd, yn dechrau adrodd ei bennill gyda chalon danbaid.
En: And Eleri's sheep watched, Rhys in his liveliness, starting to recite his verse with heartfelt passion.

Cy: Cyd-gystadleuwyr, beirniaid, a'r dorf o gwmpas, yn dechrau casglu, chwerthin a bloeddio mewn hwyl a sbri.
En: Competitors, judges, and the crowd around, began to gather, laughing and cheering in fun and joy.

Cy: Bethan, ei llygaid yn lledu mewn syndod, sylwi ar gamgymeriad anferth Rhys.
En: Bethan, her eyes widening in surprise, noticed Rhys' colossal blunder.

Cy: "Rhys bach!
En: "Rhys dear!"

Cy: " gwaeddodd, ond roedd Rhys mor ymgolli yn ei farddoniaeth fel nad oedd yn clywed.
En: she shouted, but Rhys was so engrossed in his poetry that he didn't hear.

Cy: Eleri'n nesáu, golwg o anobaith ar ei gwyneb wrth weld ei ffrind yn siarad â'i hanifail fel petai'n fardd oesol.
En: Eleri approached, a look of hopelessness on her face as she saw her friend speaking to his animal as if he were a venerable poet.

Cy: "Rhys," rhybuddiodd, ond chwardd y dorf a'u bloeddio'n cuddio ei llais.
En: "Rhys," she warned, but the crowd's laughter and cheering muffled her voice.

Cy: Bethan yn neidio i weithredu, codi llaw Rhys, a dweud yn gyhoeddus, "Rhys, cariad, dyma ddefaid Eleri, nid bardd!
En: Bethan jumped to action, grabbing Rhys' hand, and publicly announced, "Rhys, love, this is Eleri's sheep, not a poet!"

Cy: "Mewn eiliad o ddealltwriaeth, Rhys yn syllu'r dorf, cochni'n llenwi ei wyneb, sain chwerthin yn atsain y castell hynafol.
En: In a moment of understanding, Rhys looked at the crowd, his face reddening, the sound of laughter filling the air of the ancient castle.

Cy: Ond, yn lle succumb i embarasment, Rhys yn chwerthin hefyd.
En: However, instead of succumbing to embarrassment, Rhys laughed too.

Cy: "Wel, mae'n debyg bod gen i'r cynulleidfa mwyaf diddorol heddiw!
En: "Well, it seems I have the most interesting audience today!"

Cy: "Y dorf, gan gynnwys Eleri a Bethan, yn chwerthin gydag ef, gan ddangos maddeuant ac anwyldeb.
En: The crowd, including Eleri and Bethan, laughed with him, showing forgiveness and affection.

Cy: Yn y diwedd, Rhys yn troi'r sefyllfa yn joc, yn enillydd calonnau'r gwylwyr.
En: In the end, Rhys turned the situation into a joke, winning the hearts of the festival-goers.

Cy: Achos pawb yn gwybod, nid yw gŵyl gerdd a barddoniaeth heb chwerthin a hwyl.
En: Because everyone knows, a festival of poetry and verse is not complete without laughter and fun.

Cy: Ac felly, yr Eisteddfod yn parhau, gyda chân, chwerthin, a stori newydd am y bardd a'i ddefaid wrandawr, yn cael ei hadrodd am genedlaethau i ddod.
En: And so, the Eisteddfod continued, with song, laughter, and a new story about the poet and his attentive sheep, to be told for generations to come.
