Fi: Helsingin keskusrautatieaseman kello löi kahdeksan.
En: The clock at Helsinki Central Railway Station struck eight.

Fi: Aino odotti laiturilla.
En: Aino waited on the platform.

Fi: Hän katseli ihmisiä.
En: She watched people.

Fi: Kaikki olivat kiireisiä.
En: Everyone was busy.

Fi: Kuka tuli vastaan?
En: Who came towards her?

Fi: Se oli Mika!
En: It was Mika!

Fi: He eivät olleet nähneet toisiaan vuosiin.
En: They hadn't seen each other in years.

Fi: "Aino!
En: "Aino!

Fi: Hyvä nähdä sinut!"
En: Good to see you!"

Fi: Mika huusi.
En: Mika shouted.
