Cs: Horké letní odpoledne v Savannah.
En: A hot summer afternoon in Savannah.

Cs: Slunce svítí přes vysoké duby v Forsyth Parku.
En: The sun shines through the tall oaks in Forsyth Park.

Cs: Lidé slaví Den nezávislosti.
En: People are celebrating Independence Day.

Cs: Všude jsou deky, jídlo a smích.
En: There are blankets, food, and laughter everywhere.

Cs: Zelená tráva je plná dětí, co si hrají, a rodin, které mají piknik.
En: The green grass is full of children playing and families picnicking.

Cs: Jana sedí na dece a čeká na Mareka.
En: Jana sits on a blanket waiting for Marek.

Cs: Před pár hodinami přiletěl z Prahy.
En: He arrived from Prague a few hours ago.

Cs: Přemýšlí, jak mu ukáže, že její rozhodnutí bylo správné.
En: She thinks about how to show him that her decision was the right one.

Cs: Miluje umění a studium v Americe je její sen.
En: She loves art, and studying in America is her dream.

Cs: "Jano!"
En: "Jana!"

Cs: volá Marek a přistupuje k ní.
En: Marek calls as he approaches her.

Cs: Vidí, že je unavený z letu, ale jeho tvář je stále přísná.
En: She can see he's tired from the flight, but his face is still stern.

Cs: "Proč jsi mě sem pozvala?"
En: "Why did you invite me here?"

Cs: "Chci ti něco ukázat," odpovídá Jana a snaží se usmát.
En: "I want to show you something," Jana replies, trying to smile.

Cs: Sedají si na deku a jí sendviče.
En: They sit on the blanket and eat sandwiches.

Cs: Mezi nimi je ticho, které jen občas přeruší smích dětí nebo šustění listí ve větru.
En: Between them is silence, occasionally interrupted by children's laughter or the rustling of leaves in the wind.

Cs: "Tak co je to za umělecký projekt, o kterém jsi mi psala?"
En: "So what is this art project you wrote me about?"

Cs: ptá se Marek, když dojí.
En: Marek asks after finishing his meal.

Cs: "Podívej se támhle," ukazuje Jana směrem k fontáně.
En: "Look over there," Jana points towards the fountain.

Cs: Tam stojí veliká socha, plná barev a fantazie.
En: A large statue, full of colors and imagination, stands there.

Cs: "To jsem vytvořila já."
En: "I created that."

Cs: Marek se dívá na sochu.
En: Marek looks at the statue.

Cs: Je nádherná, plná života a radosti.
En: It is beautiful, full of life and joy.

Cs: Ale Marek zamračí čelo.
En: But Marek frowns.

Cs: "Měla jsi být inženýrka.
En: "You were supposed to be an engineer.

Cs: To bylo tvé budoucí povolání."
En: That was your future career."

Cs: Jana se zhluboka nadechne.
En: Jana takes a deep breath.

Cs: "Marek, tohle je moje budoucí povolání.
En: "Marek, this is my future career.

Cs: Mám radost z toho, co dělám.
En: I find joy in what I do.

Cs: Ukaž mi, kde jsem šla špatně."
En: Show me where I went wrong."

Cs: Marek ticho mlčí.
En: Marek remains silent.

Cs: V dálce se ozývají první zvuky ohňostroje.
En: In the distance, the first sounds of fireworks begin.

Cs: Lidé všude okolo zvedají hlavy k nebi.
En: People all around lift their heads to the sky.

Cs: "Jana," začíná Marek, "chci jen, abys byla šťastná.
En: "Jana," Marek starts, "I just want you to be happy.

Cs: Ale není to jednoduché."
En: But it's not simple."

Cs: "Šťastná jsem.
En: "I am happy.

Cs: Podívej se na tu sochu, to je můj život," říká Jana.
En: Look at the statue, that's my life," says Jana.

Cs: "Prosím, pochop mě."
En: "Please, understand me."

Cs: Zvuky ohňostroje jsou hlasitější.
En: The sounds of fireworks grow louder.

Cs: Obloha se rozzáří barevnými světly.
En: The sky lights up with colorful lights.

Cs: Marek se znovu dívá na sochu a pak na Janu.
En: Marek looks at the statue again and then at Jana.

Cs: Vidí její oči plné naděje a vášně.
En: He sees her eyes full of hope and passion.

Cs: Pomalu přikývne.
En: Slowly, he nods.

Cs: "Možná, že jsem tě špatně posuzoval.
En: "Maybe I judged you wrong.

Cs: Vidím, jak jsi šťastná."
En: I see how happy you are."

Cs: Jana se usměje, v očích má slzy radosti.
En: Jana smiles, tears of joy in her eyes.

Cs: Sednou si vedle sebe a tiše sledují ohňostroj.
En: They sit side by side and quietly watch the fireworks.

Cs: Pro jednou nevnímají dav okolo.
En: For once, they don't notice the crowd around them.

Cs: Jen barvy na obloze a radost v srdcích.
En: Just the colors in the sky and the joy in their hearts.

Cs: Marek objímá svou sestru.
En: Marek hugs his sister.

Cs: "Podporuji tě, Jano.
En: "I support you, Jana.

Cs: Pokud jsi šťastná, jsem šťastný i já."
En: If you are happy, then I am happy too."

Cs: A tak pod večerním nebem Savannah, plným jasných světel a barev, si sourozenci konečně rozumí.
En: And so, under the evening sky of Savannah, full of bright lights and colors, the siblings finally understand each other.

Cs: Vědí, že štěstí je víc než cokoliv jiného.
En: They know that happiness is more than anything else.
