“Behind the Mitten” is Michigan’s premiere travel radio show and Podcast, and since 2015 it has published more than 500 episodes. It is co-hosted by veteran journalist John Gonzalez and longtime chef & beer expert Amy Sherman. The show has been recognized by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters as Best in Category.

On this episode we spend some time in Detroit!

Season 5, Episode 6:

• First, we get an overview of tourism to the area from Claude Molinari, president of Visit Detroit. He shares a few of his favorite neighborhoods and things to do in the city.
• Lucy Hale from the always interesting, and ever-changing Michigan Science Center, shares some of their new exhibits you can experience. Amy gets excited to hear that a favorite part of the museum she remembers from childhood visits lives on.
• We check out an interesting new "museum" concept from the owner of The Detroit Selfie Museum, Tahira Hannah.
• Finally, we make a stop at a brewery located in the historic Eastern Market, known funnily enough as the Eastern Market Brewery. Pauline Knighton shares what to expect during your visit, as well as some of the strides that women have made in the Michigan brewing industry over the last few years.
