Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá fuar earraigh a bhí ann, agus bhí draíocht sa spéir os cionn Aillte an Mhothair.
En: It was a cold spring day, and there was magic in the sky above the Cliffs of Moher.

Ga: Saoirse, ina cailín óg le gruaig buí fada agus súile gorma mar an spéir, bhí sí réidh le haghaidh an comórtas aoireachta caorach a bhíonn ar siúl ann gach bliain.
En: Saoirse, a young girl with long blonde hair and eyes as blue as the sky, was ready for the annual sheep herding competition that took place there every year.

Ga: Bhí Declan ansin freisin, fear óg le hata olann agus féasóg dorcha, a bhí bródúil as a thréada caorach a bhí clú agus cáil orthu ar fud na háite.
En: Declan was also there, a young man with a woolen hat and a dark beard, proud of his famous herd of sheep known throughout the area.

Ga: An lá sin, áfach, bhéarfadh míthuiscint baol ar gach duine agus caorach ar na haillte.
En: However, that day, a misunderstanding would put everyone in danger and the sheep on the cliffs.

Ga: Ar an maidin sin, nuair a scaoil Saoirse a cuid caorach amach, níor thug sí faoi deara go raibh caora amháin eile ina measc nach leí féin.
En: On that morning, when Saoirse released her sheep, she didn't notice that there was another sheep among them that didn't belong to her.

Ga: Bhí an chaora seo le Declan, ach ós rud é go raibh dathanna comhchosúla ar an olann, ní raibh aon cheist ar Saoirse.
En: This sheep belonged to Declan, but because the wool colors were similar, Saoirse didn't question it.

Ga: Ach, nuair a chonaic Declan go raibh caora óna thréad i measc caorach Saoirse, d'éirigh sé trína chéile.
En: However, when Declan saw his sheep among Saoirse's flock, he became furious.

Ga: "Mo chaora!
En: "My sheep!"

Ga: " a scairt sé agus é ag rith i ndiaidh Saoirse.
En: he shouted, running after Saoirse.

Ga: Bhí ionadh agus mearbhall ar Saoirse nuair a chuala sí Declan ag teacht i ndiaidh.
En: Saoirse was surprised and confused when she heard Declan coming after her.

Ga: Oibrigh siad le chéile ansin, ag rith thar féar glas agus clocha ársa, rith siad in éadan an ghaoth ar na haillte arda.
En: They then worked together, running over green grass and ancient stones, running against the wind on the high cliffs.

Ga: Bhí an radharc sách greannmhar - beirt óg ag seasamh mar a bheadh damhsa ceilí a dhéanamh ach caoirigh á mbuachailleacht in éineacht leó.
En: The sight was quite comical - two young people standing as if about to do an Irish dance, but shepherding sheep with them.

Ga: Bhí an chase corraitheach ach lán le gáire freisin agus iad ag iarraidh na caoirigh a socrú.
En: The chase was thrilling but also filled with laughter as they attempted to settle the sheep.

Ga: "Inis dom conas a d'aithin tú do chaora?
En: "Tell me how you recognized your sheep?"

Ga: " arsa Saoirse ag anallfálach, agus í ag tarraingt anáil go trom.
En: Saoirse asked, panting heavily.

Ga: "Ó, tá spota dubh ag Molly - sin ainm na caorach - ar a haghaidh," mhínigh Declan le fonn.
En: "Oh, Molly has a black spot on her face," explained Declan eagerly.

Ga: Ar deireadh, d'éirigh leo Molly a scaradh ó chuid Saoirse, le cabhair ó spota an-aitheanta.
En: Finally, they managed to separate Molly from Saoirse's flock, with the help of the well-known spot.

Ga: Bhí gach caora ar ais lena húinéir ceart.
En: Every sheep was back with its rightful owner.

Ga: San iomaíocht a lean, bhí Saoirse agus Declan ag gaire le chéile ar an ardán.
En: In the following competition, Saoirse and Declan laughed together on the stage.

Ga: Ní fhéadfadh éinne a shéanadh gur chruthaigh an dá ógánach cairdeas nach brisfí go héasca, fiú i ndiaidh mí-chinnteagus géire an chomórtais.
En: No one could deny that the two youngsters had created a friendship that wouldn't easily be broken, even after the uncertainties and fierceness of the competition.

Ga: Ar deireadh thiar, bhí an láithean saoireachta caorach ag druidim chun deiridh.
En: Ultimately, the sheep herding competition day was drawing to a close.

Ga: Bhí iontas ar na daoine ar fad nuair a d'fhógair an moltóir gur bhuaigh Saoirse agus Declan duais ar leith - duais don obair foirne is fearr.
En: Everyone was surprised when the judge announced that Saoirse and Declan had won a special prize - an award for the best teamwork.

Ga: Le teann aoibhneachais ina gcroíthe, sheas Saoirse agus Declan le chéile os comhair na haillte, ag breathnú amach ar an bhfarraige mhór, agus a fhios acu go raibh an lá seo le mhairn a mbeirt acu go deo.
En: With a warm smile in their hearts, Saoirse and Declan stood together in front of the cliffs, looking out at the vast sea, knowing that this day had created a bond for them forever.

Ga: Bhí caora á gcaitheamh thart agus cairdeas nua déanta - léiriú beo ar na hiontais a tharlaíonn nuair a chastar daoine le chéile i mbaol duine éigin.
En: The sheep were wandering around and a new friendship was made - a lively demonstration of the wonders that occur when people come together in a time of danger.
