Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá breá gréine a bhí ann i gcontae an Chláir, áit a raibh na haillte móra ag breathnú amach os cionn an Atlantaigh.
En: It was a beautiful sunny day in County Clare, where the large cliffs overlooked the Atlantic.

Ga: Ní raibh scamall sa spéir agus bhí boladh na mara ag meascadh leis an aer úr sléibhe.
En: There wasn't a cloud in the sky, and the scent of the sea mingled with the fresh mountain air.

Ga: Sa suíomh álainn seo, bhí baile beag in aice le hAillte an Mhothair áit a raibh Seamus, Aoife, agus Niamh ina gcónaí.
En: In this lovely location, there was a small town near the Cliffs of Moher where Seamus, Aoife, and Niamh lived.

Ga: Bhí Seamus ina fhear simplí le croí mór agus meon maith.
En: Seamus was a simple man with a big heart and a kind spirit.

Ga: Bhí grá aige don cheol, don ól, agus don chomhluadar maith.
En: He loved music, drink, and good company.

Ga: Aoife, bean óg thromchúiseach a bhí i gceannas ar thréad caorach, d'fhéach sí i gcónaí tar éis a maoin le cúram mór.
En: Aoife, a young and strong-willed woman, was in charge of a sheep farm, always looking after her flock with great care.

Ga: Niamh, ar an láimh eile, bhí aithne uirthi mar gheall ar a bó buaiteach a bhí chomh mór le bád agus chomh geal le sneachta.
En: Niamh, on the other hand, was known for her prize-winning cow that was as big as a boat and as white as snow.

Ga: Lá amháin, ar maidin geal grianmhar, shocraigh Seamus go mbeadh sé deas dul go dtí an teach tábhairne áitiúil don deoch.
En: One day, on a bright sunny morning, Seamus decided to go to the local pub for a drink.

Ga: Nuair a bhí sé ag siúl síos an bóthar, chonaic sé aoireacht Aoife, agus cheap sé, ar neamhbhéas, gurb é bó Niamh a bhí ann atá ar iarraidh.
En: As he walked down the road, he saw Aoife herding her sheep, and without realizing it, he thought it was Niamh's missing cow.

Ga: Ní raibh a fhios aige conas an bó a stiúradh, ach smaoinigh sé, "Tá bó iontach mar seo tuillte aici a bheith i dtigh tábhairne!" Dá réir sin, rinne sé iarracht an caora a threorú chun na tábhairne.
En: He didn't know how to steer the cow, but he thought, "A wonderful cow like this one deserves to be in the pub!" So he tried to guide the sheep to the pub.

Ga: Áfach, ní raibh sé éasca mar a shíl sé. Thosaigh a caora Aoife ag rith timpeall, agus bhí Seamus ag rith ina diaidh, ag iarraidh í a shealbhú.
En: However, it wasn't as easy as he thought. Aoife's sheep started running around, and Seamus ran after them, trying to catch them.

Ga: Chuala Aoife an troscán agus rith sí amach chun a fheiceáil cad a bhí ar siúl.
En: Aoife heard the commotion and ran out to see what was happening.

Ga: "Cén fáth atá tú ag iarraidh mo chaoire a thógáil go dtí an tábhairne, a Sheamuis?" ghlaodh Aoife amach le mearbhall.
En: "Why are you trying to take my sheep to the pub, Seamus?" Aoife called out in confusion.

Ga: Bhí cuma chomh bhréan ar Seamus. D'inis sé dó faoi mheancóg, ag ceapadh gur bó Niamh a bhí ann.
En: Seamus looked puzzled. He told her about the mix-up, thinking it was Niamh's cow.

Ga: Gáire mór a bhí ag Aoife agus chuir sí in iúl dó go raibh an difríocht idir caora agus bó soiléir.
En: Aoife burst into laughter and made it clear to him the clear difference between a sheep and a cow.

Ga: Ag an am seo, chuala Niamh faoin bpraiseach agus tháinig sí féachaint cad a bhí ar siúl.
En: At this point, Niamh heard the commotion and came to see what was going on.

Ga: Nuair a chonaic sí Seamus agus a caora Aoife ag streachailt ar an mbóthar, d'fhéadfadh sí gan cuimilt gan gáire.
En: When she saw Seamus and Aoife's sheep struggling on the road, she couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably.

Ga: Sa deireadh, d'fhoghlaim Seamus a dhifríocht a dhéanamh idir caora agus bó,
En: In the end, Seamus learned to distinguish between a sheep and a cow.

Ga: gach duine sa bhaile bhí trácht ar an eachtra fud fad na seachtaine agus bhí siad go léir in ann gáire a dhéanamh faoi.
En: Everyone in the town talked about the incident for the whole week, and they were all able to laugh about it.

Ga: Ón lá sin ar aghaidh, bhí Seamus níos cúramaí faoi na hainmhithe a bhí sé ag iarraidh a stiúradh, agus thug Aoife agus Niamh cabhair dó tuiscint níos fearr a bheith aige ar feirmeoireacht.
En: From that day on, Seamus was more careful about the animals he was trying to steer, and Aoife and Niamh helped him better understand farming.

Ga: Bíodh gur eachtra ait a bhí ann, tháinig cairdeas níos láidre eatarthu agus ní dhéanfadh Seamus dearmad ar an lá sin ag Aillte an Mhothair.
En: Though it was an odd experience, it brought them closer together, and Seamus would never forget that day at the Cliffs of Moher.
