Pl: Kiedy domy w Krakowie stały się ruinami, a ulice zarosły trawą, Kasia i Marek wędrowali przez opustoszałe miasto.
En: When the houses in Krakow became ruins and the streets were overgrown with grass, Kasia and Marek wandered through the deserted city.

Pl: Mieli tylko siebie.
En: They only had each other.

Pl: Rodzice zaginęli.
En: Their parents were missing.

Pl: Każdy dzień to walka o przetrwanie.
En: Every day was a battle for survival.

Pl: Lato było gorące.
En: The summer was hot.

Pl: Słońce piekło, ale przynajmniej było jasno.
En: The sun scorched, but at least it was bright.

Pl: Kasia, silna i uparcie walcząca, przewodziła.
En: Kasia, strong and stubbornly fighting, led the way.

En: They stood in front of an old post, which was now a base for dangerous people.

Pl: – Musimy. Może tam coś znajdziemy o rodzicach – odpowiedziała Kasia.
En: “We have to. Maybe we’ll find something about our parents there,” Kasia replied.

Pl: Wiedziała, że ryzykują, ale musieli spróbować.
En: She knew they were taking a risk, but they had to try.

Pl: Cicho weszli do budynku.
En: They quietly entered the building.

Pl: Wziął metalowy pręt i rzucił go w przeciwną stronę.
En: He picked up a metal rod and threw it in the opposite direction.

En: The noise distracted their opponents.

En: Before they knew it, the siblings were quietly sneaking towards the exit.
