Story Transcript:
Cy: Un diwrnod braf yn yr haf, roedd Dylan yn cerdded drwy strydoedd llonydd pentref bach Cymru.
En: One beautiful day in the summer, Dylan was walking through the quiet streets of a small village in Wales.
Cy: Roedd yr awyr yn las a'r adar yn canu.
En: The sky was blue and the birds were singing.
Cy: Ond roedd gan Dylan broblem fawr iawn.
En: But Dylan had a very big problem.
Cy: Roedd wedi colli bet gyda'i ffrind gorau, Rhiannon, ac roedd yn rhaid iddo ddysgu sut i ynganu enw'r pentref hirfelynaf yn y byd: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
En: He had lost a bet with his best friend, Rhiannon, and he had to learn how to pronounce the name of the longest village in the world: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
Cy: "Dim ond ychydig o lythrennau ydyn nhw," meddai Rhiannon yn chwareus wrth i Dylan frwydro gyda'r geiriau.
En: "They're just a few letters," Rhiannon said playfully as Dylan struggled with the words.
Cy: Wrth i Dylan sefyll yng nghanol y pentref, roedd pawb yn aros i glywed ei ymgais.
En: As Dylan stood in the middle of the village, everyone was waiting to hear his attempt.
Cy: Agorodd ei geg ac aeth ati i droi'r geiriau cymhleth yn seiniau.
En: He opened his mouth and began to turn the complex words into sounds.
Cy: "Ll... Llan... llanv..." Meddyliodd Dylan cyn ceisio eto.
En: "Ll... Llan... llanv..." Thought Dylan before trying again.
Cy: "Llanvairpe..." Edrychodd ar wynebau disglair y bobl o'i gwmpas, rhai yn disgwyl yn eiddgar, eraill yn ceisio peidio chwerthin.
En: "Llanvairpe..." He looked at the bright faces of the people around him, some waiting eagerly, others trying not to laugh.
Cy: Roedd yn switsh yn eu llygaid - roedden nhw am ei gefnogi, ond roedd y sefyllfa'n ormod o demtasiwn i gael gigl.
En: It was a sweat in their eyes - they wanted to support him, but the situation was too tempting to giggle.
Cy: Rhiannon, yn ei golygfeydd lliwgar, a'i gwên gynnes, sefyllai gerllaw.
En: Rhiannon, in her colorful outfits and warm smile, was standing nearby.
Cy: "Cei di gymaint o amser â sydd ei angen arnat, Dylan," meddai hi yn garedig.
En: "You have as much time as you need, Dylan," she said kindly.
Cy: Am eiliad, daeth tawelwch i'r lle.
En: For a moment, quietness filled the place.
Cy: Roedd hi'n amser i Dylan ddangos ei hun.
En: It was time for Dylan to show himself.
Cy: Dechreuodd eto, yn araf, gan bwysleisio pob syllable.
En: He started again, slowly, emphasizing each syllable.
Cy: "Llan-fair...pwll-gwyn-gyll..." Roedd pob llythyren yn swnio fel cerddoriaeth, pob cyfuniad yn bont i'r nesaf.
En: "Llan-fair...pwll-gwyn-gyll..." Each letter sounded like music, each combination a bridge to the next.
Cy: Gyda phob geiriau newydd, roedd Dylan yn teimlo mwy hyderus.
En: With each new word, Dylan felt more confident.
Cy: Roedd yn ansicr i ddechrau, ond bellach roedd ei lais yn cryfhau, yn berwi, yn llawn balchder.
En: He was unsure at the beginning, but now his voice was strengthening, bubbling, full of pride.
Cy: "Go-gery-chwyrn-dro-bwll..." Credodd yntau ef ei fod wedi cyrraedd brig y mynydd.
En: "Go-gery-chwyrn-dro-bwll..." He believed he had reached the peak of the mountain.
Cy: Ac wedyn, gyda'r haul yn cwympo dros y pentref, a'r dorf yn dal ei hanadl, Dylan a dweud y gair olaf.
En: And then, as the sun set over the village, and the crowd held its breath, Dylan said the last word.
Cy: "Llan-tysilio-go-go-goch."
En: "Llan-tysilio-go-go-goch."
Cy: Roedd e’n sefyll yno, ei lygaid yn llygadu bob un sy'n gwylio, a gwên fawr iawn ar ei wyneb.
En: He stood there, his eyes meeting everyone's, a big smile on his face.
Cy: Roedd y pentref cyfan mewn cymeradwyaeth, wrth i'r cymeradwyaeth ddoniol droi i gymeradwyaeth wirfoddol.
En: The whole village was in admiration, as the comical admiration turned into genuine admiration.
Cy: Daeth Rhiannon i'w ochr ac rhoi cwtsh iddo.
En: Rhiannon came to his side and gave him a hug.
Cy: "Llongyfarchiadau, Dylan! Ti wedi gwneud e!"
En: "Congratulations, Dylan! You've done it!"
Cy: A thrwy'r noson, roedd sïon am helwr geiriau dewr, a'i antur fawr gyda'r enw mwyaf cymhleth yn y byd, yn lledaenu drwy Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, lle roedd Dylan, yr arwr heb ei ddisgwyl, wedi ennill parch ei bentref a chefnogaeth ei ffrind.
En: Throughout the night, everyone talked about the brave word tamer, and his great adventure with the most complex name in the world, spreading throughout Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, where Dylan, the unexpected hero, had won the respect of his village and the support of his friend.
