Today, I present a band from a time seemingly forgotten and typically misrepresented. That time was the mid 1980's. The sound of the era was awash in colorful hues and deep dark pockets of reverb. The United States hadn't yet experienced true terrorism on our shores, and the high times vibe of the era blinded us to the truth.

In short, the world still had hope, even if for the short term.

Day of Departure is about to release a new album that takes us sonically back to a time when the world was far in front of us, and our hopes and dreams still thrived. The new album, eponymously titled, deals with these ideas, but uncouples with them as well to discuss our potential fate and the hope that we can evolve into something much more beautiful and inspired.

This is an album dreams are truly made from. This is a band you must know, because once you take a moment to be inspired by their work, you will fall in love and you will know that you are not alone.
