Story Transcript:

Ga: Lá breá gréine a bhí ann nuair a shocraigh triúr cairde píosa stair a chruthú.
En: It was a beautiful sunny day when three friends decided to create a piece of history.

Ga: Bhí Sean, Aoife agus Siobhán ar thuras go dtí an Caisleán i mBlarna.
En: Sean, Aoife, and Siobhán were on a trip to Blarney Castle.

Ga: Chuala siad uilig faoi chloch cáiliúil an chaisleáin - an Chloch Bhlarney.
En: They all heard about the famous stone of the castle - the Blarney Stone.

Ga: Deirtear má phógann tú í, bronnfaidh sí an chumas cainte airgid ort.
En: It is said that if you kiss it, it will bestow the gift of gab upon you.

Ga: Bhí Sean an-ghafa leis an scéal seo agus ní raibh aon rún aige ach póg a thabhairt di.
En: Sean was very taken with this story and had no intention but to kiss it.

Ga: Shroich siad an caisleán tar éis siúlóid fhada agus díreach mar a bhí an cloch os a gcomhair, d'ullmhaigh Sean é féin don ghníomh mór.
En: They reached the castle after a long walk and just as the stone was in front of him, Sean prepared himself for the big act.

Ga: Le cúnamh ó Aoife agus Siobhán, chuir sé é féin ag luí siar thar imeall an bhalla, a cheann faoi dhó agus a chosa á gcoinneáil ag na cailíní.
En: With the help of Aoife and Siobhán, he positioned himself leaning backward against the wall, his head tilted back and his feet held by the girls.

Ga: Ach, ar an drochuair, tharla tubaiste beag.
En: Unfortunately, a small disaster occurred.

Ga: Chaill Sean greim ar an bhalla agus, roimh a raibh am ag éinne anáil a tharraingt, bhí sé crochta airdeallach, a chorp á choinneáil inár láimh ag Aoife agus Siobhán, a cheann fós gan póg a fháil ar an chloch iontach.
En: Sean lost his grip on the wall and before anyone had time to draw breath, he was hanging awkwardly, his body held in our hands by Aoife and Siobhán, his head still unable to kiss the wonderful stone.

Ga: "Bhí sé i bhfad níos éasca i mo shamhlaíocht," arsa Sean, ag iarraidh magadh a dhéanamh fúthu féin, agus ba léir go raibh éadóchas ina ghuth.
En: "It was far easier to imagine," said Sean, trying to make fun of themselves, and it was clear that there was disappointment in his voice.

Ga: D'fhéach Aoife agus Siobhán ar a chéile agus d'aontaigh siad le súil amháin gurbh é an t-am éacú éigeandála a ghlaoch.
En: Aoife and Siobhán looked at each other and agreed that it was time to call for urgent help.

Ga: Ar an mbealach sin, tháinig cabhair.
En: In that way, help came.

Ga: Bhí cúpla sluaite bailithe timpeall an tseoiseal agus bhí gach duine ag cabhrú chun Sean a shábháil sula mbeadh a thuilleadh dainséir ann.
En: A couple of crowds gathered around the commotion and everyone helped to save Sean before there were any more mishaps.

Ga: Tar éis iarrachtaí crua agus neart obair foirne, thángthas ar bhealach é a fháil amach.
En: After hard attempts and a lot of teamwork, a way was found to get him out.

Ga: Bhí faoiseamh ar gach éinne nuair a bhí Sean faoi dheireadh slán ar an talamh, agus b'fhéidir nach raibh an chloch phógtha aige, ach bhí draíocht eile bainte amach - draíocht an chairdis agus na foighne.
En: There was relief for everyone when Sean was finally safe on the ground, and maybe he didn't kiss the stone, but another magic had been achieved - the magic of friendship and patience.

Ga: Ní raibh dóthain buíochais ag Sean do Aoife agus do Shíobhan, a choinnigh é sabháilte nuair a bhí sé i mbaol.
En: Sean didn't have enough gratitude to Aoife and Siobhán, who kept him safe when he was in danger.

Ga: Agus, cé nach bhfuair sé an chumas cainte airgid, fuair sé ceacht luachmhar - go bhfuil cinntí i gceist le hiarmhairtí, agus uaireanta bíonn an cumas cainte ó chroí níos fearr ná aon chaint airgid.
En: And even though he didn't get the gift of gab, he got a valuable lesson - that there are consequences to actions, and sometimes the ability to speak from the heart is better than any gift of gab.

Ga: Ón lá sin amach, thug siad a gcuideachta féin an "Triúr a Thug Grá don Chloch" agus rinne siad gealltanas dul ar eachtraí nua le chéile, agus a chinntiú go mbeadh siad beagáinín níos cúramach an chéad uair.
En: From that day on, they called themselves the "Three Who Gave Love to the Stone," and they made a promise to go on new adventures together, and to ensure they were a bit more careful the next time.
