Story Transcript:

Nl: In Amsterdam, leeft een man, Jan.
En: In Amsterdam, there lives a man named Jan.

Nl: Hij woont naast een prachtige, oude windmolen.
En: He lives next to a beautiful, old windmill.

Nl: Op een zonnige dag besluit Jan een foto te maken.
En: On a sunny day, Jan decides to take a photo.

Nl: Hij wil een selfie met zijn fiets, met de windmolen achter hem.
En: He wants to take a selfie with his bike, with the windmill behind him.

Nl: Jan pakt zijn fiets en rijdt naar de windmolen.
En: Jan grabs his bike and rides to the windmill.

Nl: Al rijdend probeert hij met één hand zijn telefoon goed te houden.
En: While riding, he tries to hold his phone steady with one hand.

Nl: Met de andere hand houdt hij zijn fiets in balans.
En: With the other hand, he tries to balance his bike.

Nl: Het gaat mis.
En: It goes wrong.

Nl: Plotseling rijdt Jan zo de gracht naast de windmolen in.
En: Suddenly, Jan rides right into the canal next to the windmill.

En: Her name is Quick Lieke.

Nl: Ze springt op haar fiets en rijdt snel naar huis.
En: She jumps on her bike and quickly rides home.

En: There, she grabs a rope and goes back to the spot of the big splash.

En: The pigeons come towards her.

En: She points to the canal.

En: After a while, a pigeon emerges with something shiny in its beak.

Nl: Jan kan het niet geloven.
En: Jan can't believe it.

Nl: Hij bedankt Lieke en de duiven.
En: He thanks Lieke and the pigeons.

Nl: Hij is nog steeds nat en koud.
En: He is still wet and cold.

Nl: Maar nu is hij ook blij en verrast.
En: But now he is also happy and surprised.
