Fr: Jacques était un homme charmant.
En: Jacques was a charming man.

Fr: Il vivait dans une petite rue de la ville lumière, Paris.
En: He lived on a small street in the City of Light, Paris.

Fr: Là-bas, les chats errants et les rues pavées confèrent à la ville un charme sans pareil.
En: There, the stray cats and cobblestone streets gave the city an unparalleled charm.

Fr: Il aimait déguster un croissant au petit déjeuner.
En: He enjoyed savoring a croissant for breakfast.

Fr: Un matin, comme d'habitude, Jacques se dirigea vers le café du coin.

En: There were couples chatting quietly, tourists admiring the view out the window, and an old musician playing the violin with passion.

Fr: Jacques attendait avec impatience.
En: Jacques was eagerly awaiting.

Fr: Il adorait mordre dans le croissant chaud, pendant que son café diffusait de petites volutes de fumée.

Fr: La serveuse rougit, et s'excusa.
En: The waitress blushed and apologized.

Fr: "Je suis désolée, monsieur.
En: "I'm sorry, sir.

Fr: J'ai mal compris.
En: I misunderstood.

Fr: Je vais vous apporter votre croissant tout de suite.
En: I'll bring you your croissant right away."

Fr: "Mais Jacques sourit doucement.
En: But Jacques smiled gently.

Fr: Il regarda de nouveau la baguette.
En: He looked at the baguette again.

Fr: Elle était dorée, fraîchement cuite et dégageait une odeur qui ouvrait l'appétit.
