Story Transcript:

Uk: Небо було ясним над Києво-Печерською Лаврою.
En: The sky was clear over the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

Uk: Оксана вирішила провести день у цьому історичному місці.
En: Oksana decided to spend the day at this historic site.

Uk: Вона любила старі монастирі та вузькі коридори.
En: She loved old monasteries and narrow corridors.

Uk: Оксана йшла повільно, роздивляючись величні купола.
En: Oksana walked slowly, admiring the magnificent domes.

Uk: Раптом вона помітила групу туристів біля головного входу.
En: Suddenly, she noticed a group of tourists near the main entrance.

Uk: Вони говорили на іноземній мові, яку Оксана не розуміла.
En: They were speaking a foreign language that Oksana didn't understand.

Uk: Вона зупинилась, щоб послухати.
En: She stopped to listen.

Uk: Тим часом, гід повів групу далі, але Оксана залишилась таки настрійно.
En: Meanwhile, the guide led the group further, but Oksana stayed back, deeply intrigued.

En: "Well, this is a challenge!"

En: Oksana thought and began to talk.

En: She pointed to various buildings and made up interesting stories.

En: She invented that one of the bell towers granted wishes if approached with a fruit.

Uk: Вона також розповіла, що монахи раніше вирощували магічні рослини у підземних печерах.
En: She also said that monks used to grow magical plants in the underground caves.

Uk: Туристи слухали з захопленням, клацаючи фотоапаратами.
En: The tourists listened with fascination, clicking their cameras.

Uk: Оксана почала сама вірити своїм вигадкам.
En: Oksana herself started to believe her own inventions.

Uk: Вона показала найстарішу лаврську фреску і сказала, що її малювали ельфи.
En: She showed them the oldest fresco in the Lavra and said it was painted by elves.

Uk: Вона знала, що це просто дурниці, але це було так весело!
En: She knew it was all nonsense, but it was so much fun!

Uk: Незабаром екскурсія підійшла до кінця біля виходу.
En: Soon, the tour came to an end near the exit.

En: Oksana smiled at the tourists, and they gratefully gave her their souvenirs.

En: They had no idea that the real guide had gotten lost somewhere.

En: She ran home, laughing.

En: That day, she realized that sometimes you can simply enjoy the moment, even if everything around you is like a fairy tale.
