Family Reunited: Arròs Negre

Story Transcript:
Ca: Feia molt de temps que la família Alvarez no cuinava un àpat junts a casa seva de Sitges, Catalunya.
En: It had been a long time since the Alvarez family had cooked a meal together in their home in Sitges, Catalunya.

Ca: Feia mesos que es passaven el dia treballant i anant a l'escola, amb poc temps per a res més.
En: For months, they had spent their days working and going to school, with little time for anything else.

Ca: Aquesta nit, van decidir que era hora de trencar la rutina i tornar a connectar-se.
En: Tonight, they decided it was time to break the routine and reconnect with each other.

Ca: Havien decidit fer un plat tradicional català, l'arròs negre.
En: They had decided to make a traditional Catalonian dish, arròs negre.

Ca: La cuina estava plena de vida, ja que la família treballava junts per preparar el menjar.
En: The kitchen was full of life as the family worked together to prepare the meal.

Ca: La Marina, la mare, era l'encarregada de tallar els calamars a trossos petits i de coure-los en una paella amb all, ceba i pebrot.
