We are not satisfied with our self-image, so we want to improve it, to "trade up" in relationship. We invest in relationship to get something, to get a return, and we are upset when we don't get what we want. The solution is to shift to Divine Purpose. Give your relationship to the Holy Spirit. These two guidelines: "No people pleasing" and "No private thoughts" encourage open, honest, direct communication. The resulting open disclosure nurtures love.
