Today, viral claims on the internet hailed a supposed genuine UFO resembling a spiky 3D cross or old-fashioned "jacks" toy. Enthusiasts linked it to the famous 1561 Nuremberg celestial phenomenon—a historical woodcut depicting an aerial "battle" of spheres, blood-red crosses, cylinders, and rods over the German city. Others tied it to a alleged 1960s sighting by two English police officers, claiming investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell released a still image of it in 2024. In reality, all these connections proved fake: the modern image was debunked as a hoax or misidentified object, with no credible evidence linking it to the centuries-old Nuremberg event or the purported British police encounter.
